Holding Seminars Through A Video Conference Call

Communicating directly with well-known professionals and famous personalities would certainly make any seminar more interesting. Imagine getting to learn about a country from someone who is a native to that country and can give you first-hand information on everything you wanted to know. Getting live feeds about their current subjects can encourage and improve learning in students.

All seminars are not necessarily academic in nature. Many times, seminars are hosted by companies as a means of evoking interest in a new product that is being launched or even as a means of increasing their profits. There is a lot of preparation and planning involved in hosting a seminar and even more so if there is any videoconferencing. The first thing you need to do after finding your target audience is to focus on their individual needs. The next important thing is to find some celebrity personality or established expert to endorse your product and talk about it in detail. Video conference calls can play a vital role in the success of your seminar. With conference calls you can choose any person from another city or even another state to interact with your audience. The person will not even have to travel across the country. All they have to do is agree to be available to talk to your audience at a certain date and time.

Live demonstrations have been proven to be very effective for successfully marketing any product. Videoconferencing could also be used as a means of live demonstrations, with the person on screen doing the live demonstration. For the seminar to be more effective you could always offer the attendees some kind of buyer incentive in the form of free services, prizes or any other freebies if they make any purchase.

As a general thumb of rule, videoconferencing is most effective if scheduled for a maximum of two hours and no longer. Depending on the topic of discussion, shorter seminars of an hour’s duration are even more effective. Long drawn out conference call seminars can tire out the participants and once boredom and disinterest creeps in you will lose the winning edge. Making a schedule of events and distributing relevant pamphlets and brochures before the seminar will prepare the audience for what lays ahead. Keep all your teaching materials handy including any audio clips, graphics or video clips.

You could even arrange to have all the materials already placed at each table or seat. Once you have the list of attendees, it is a good idea to plan seating arrangements for everybody. You can make some kind of identification labels or name tags for each person and place them in the appropriate locations to indicate the seating arrangements. Remember to use large fonts when typing names on the computer. Size 24 or larger Arial font is most highly recommended.

If your conference call plan includes an individual or several individuals from different parts of the country or the world, do not wait till last minute to make arrangements. These experts are integral to the success of your seminar and you should have everything decided and confirmed days before the actual seminar. Make sure you secure timings as well as an overview of the discussion at hand. Keep in mind the different time zones if your speaker is from another country.
